CPP Group wins Tech Employer of the Year at Leeds Digital Festival Awards

CPP Group is honoured to have won Tech Employer of the Year at last week’s Leeds Digital Festival Awards. The awards celebrate all that is great about the digital and tech industry in the North of England over the last year. Taking place at Headrow House, the event was a great celebration of all businesses driving the vibrant tech community which we’re proud to be a part of.
CPP Group’s central functions moved to Leeds from York almost 18 months ago during which time new connections have been made and the company has become integrated within the digital and tech network. Winning this award is a wonderful achievement. We’re really proud of our unique development programmes and cultural initiatives that make CPP Group such a great place to work. Our people think so too. Last year we invited colleagues from all our country locations to share their thoughts on our cultural journey and 76% said that they’d noticed positive changes to the culture at CPP.
All our successes are achieved through the initiative of our people, which is why we invest in the right culture and people to meet our growth aspirations. We have a welcoming, open and vibrant work environment. We also have a pretty amazing coffee machine! Being in the city centre of Leeds means there’s always a buzz and we’re proud to be recognised alongside some fantastic companies that were shortlisted for all the awards.
Following on from the awards we also played our part in Leeds Digital Festival with our innovation panel event. Our brilliant panellists included Paul Prendergast – CEO of CPP Innovations, Nigel Walsh – Partner at Deloitte Digital and Jane Rutter – Owner and Founder of Zeal Digital Agency.
They provided some great insights on innovation successes from within their own businesses and provided examples from the industries they work in. There was some interesting discussion around how innovation needs to be driven by consumers to solve a real problem, and also some points about the importance of testing and getting products to market sooner rather than later. A great quote mentioned from Reid Hoffman, LinkedIn founder on this sentiment:
‘If you’re not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late’.
Paul’s advice:
‘Testing and validating the product and market is critical as you innovate. It’s key that you get this feedback very quickly. Don’t wait 18 months to launch and then realise that you’ve spent resources and time on the wrong product and strategy’
CPP Group is delighted to have been awarded Tech Employer of the year and to be part of a festival that includes more tech events than San Francisco and 240 events that were attended by over 25,000 people! We look forward to another exciting year of developments here at CPP ahead of next year’s celebrations.
