CPP Group’s InsurTech company Blink strengthens its foothold in Canadian market with a new significant partnership
Canadian Travel Insurance provider, Tugo, will work with Blink to roll out tailor made flight disruption solution to it’s customers
Blink, part of CPP Group, has bolstered its ever-increasing global presence with the finalising of a deal with one of Canada’s top travel insurance providers, TuGo. It will be supporting the insurer to develop a tailormade solution for its customers with the roll out of MyFlyt™ across its platform.
This deal follows two significant partnership deals for Blink within the Canadian market this year, including major travel insurers Manulife and Blue Cross, which increased their global customer base by around 250,000.
Blink also has further cause for celebration, following the announcement that it has been listed amongst this year’s INSURTECH100.
The addition of Blink’s technology to its arsenal will give TuGo real-time remediation capabilities, as the MyFlyt innovation monitors customers’ flights and enables instant communication with customers if any delay is detected. The immediacy of delay reporting means that issues can be resolved faster than ever before. TuGo’s customers who are registered with MyFlyt will have access to a range of options to help ease the stress of a delayed flight, such as airport lounge access if they are delayed by over 2 hours or an immediate cash payout per traveller.
Announcing the deal, Paul Prendergast, CEO and Co-founder of Blink,
“TuGo is one of the most well-respected names in Canada’s travel insurance market. They’ve helped millions of travellers, and their reputation for service excellence precedes them. We look forward to enhancing TuGo’s travel products with MyFlyt service to improve their customers’ experiences when flights are delayed.”
Jason Wash, Group CEO of CPP, commented,
“The impressive scalability of Blink is testament to its industry-leading technology, with this latest partnership only one in a series of notable wins across Canada. Having gone from strength to strength in the past two years, it continues to grow across global markets, especially within North America and Canada and has added significant value to the CPP Group. Furthermore, its recognition within the INSURTECH100 reflects CPP’s ongoing strategy for encouraging and investing in innovation across the Group.”
The INSURTECH100 2019, run by FinTech Global, recognises the world’s most innovative InsurTech companies who are striving to solve time-old industry issues. It is a significant accolade for Blink as it battled strong competition to be named amongst the list of high calibre firms within an industry which is growing at an unprecedented speed.
